How to over-clock a GPU and on what it depends?

hi guys I'm new to over-clocking and never tried it b4.

so i want to know how to over-clock the GPU and is there a specific MOBOs to over-clock it or it can be over-clocked on any mobo?

and is there any danger in over-clocking?

[I don't want to over-clock my current Gpu as it will do nothing with the piece of **** radeon hd5450] I will do it when buying 7870XT or maybe any hd8xxx gtx 700 series.

The motherboard generally applies to OCing the CPU. The GPU is its own separate world. Best thing would be to research each model of what you intend to buy. See what other people can get when OCing. Find one with the performance you want with a price you can afford.
