I installed ubuntu 12.04 and somehow it changed windows boot manager menu to GRUB Menu, how to get rid of it, i tried windows recovery through HDD partition and the 4 dvds method, both didn't work, coz when i boot up my laptop it shows black screen with the message GRUB error.

I want to fully format my hdd, remove all partitions, i don't care about OS

please help

Stick with GRUB. MBR isn't a good multi-boot boot manager. You have to manually teach get it to recognize the Ubuntu installation. I'm not sure if EasyBCD will work. It probably would.

To restore GRUB, just pop in a LiveCD (of any Linux distribution) and have it restore the GRUB boot loader.

To remove all partitions, pop in a LiveCD with gparted and have gparted delete all partitions into unallocated space. This process is irreversible so make sure you back up any important files.
