In all seriousness i have been working on the build specs and budget management for a good while now and need your expert-ness to tell me if its alright?

also ill be using an intel core i7 3770k. is it possible using my current cooler to overclock to 4.4ghz or more? if so, how much more? would another cpucooler let me overclock more?.

is there any reason why you would want to overclock it to 4.4 ghz or higher?

but ya. that cooler should get you to 4.4 ghz.

If you don't mind having a big air cooler in the case, you should consider the Noctua NH-D14 (which around 20 pounds cheaper) and provides better cooling.

h80i cooler is compatible with i7-3770k (lga1155 socket to be precise)

here is a review of it with i7-3770k
http://m.hardocp.com/article/2013/02/12/corsair_hydro_series_h80i_h100i_cpu_cooler_review

asrock z77 extreme 6 is also good board

personally i like gskill sniper over vengance :p , small heat sink and better overclocking potential and stability than vengence (old revisions)

hd7870 is also good though hd7870XT (see the XT) is also close to hd7870 in price and provide better performance

though overall it is a nice build

thank everyone, the reason i need it at 4.4ghz or more (maybe 5ghz) i because i've dropped doing more stuff and and just want a quick pc that can do lots of different things.

ill check out the noctua cooler too, and the 7870xt
thanks guys

If they are of equal priority, I would start cutting cooling and investing in graphics. You don't need a massive overclock on the i7-3770k to do either editing or gaming, and you could get a much more powerful GPU for what you'd save.

Edit: Having run the numbers, I estimate that by reducing the cooler to a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, and the mobo to a Extreme4, you could squeeze in at least a 7950.

you don't even need that much of a overclock to do either... regular productivity performance is mostly determined by the HDD/SSD speed.

The XT isn't actually a variant of the 7870, it's a variant of the 7950 (AMD sucks at naming products). It is very powerful for its price.

I do not believe that the 7870 XT has two HDMI ports. All the spec sheets I can find for it list it as having one.
Out of curiosity, why do you want to keep the H80i? The gains you'll be getting from it are much lower than what you would get from a better GPU in gaming, and you likely won't notice the difference elsewhere.

Edit: That is, the gains from the overclock it would allow.

h80i is just easy to use, and is small.

can i use one of those external "gpu's" to get the 2nd monitor working?

Easier than a fan? As you will, I suppose.

You could also use an HDMI splitter. However, the XT also has minDisplay Ports and a DVI connector, so if your monitors support either of those, you wouldn't need to worry, to my understanding (disclaimer: I have only run single-monitor systems up to this point, so I can't be sure).

Edit: Or, as truegenius said, a DVI to HDMI adaptor.

you can get those? ill just get an adaptor then.
P.S: a fan i dont believe can cool a processor more than a water cooler. never used a watercooler so i dont know, heh heh

A fan can easily outcool a water cooler. It varies by the specific cooler. If you're talking about the highest-end closed-loop coolers (H110, NZXT Kraken x60), then you're right. There are no fan coolers which can keep up with them. However, your H80i is handily beaten by a number of fan coolers, including the previously suggested Noctua DH14. That said, both are only needed for heavy overclocking.

there are water coolers bigger than the h100i? when was this miracle of engineering released?!

I can't seem to find any specifications for your chosen case online, so I have no idea. I can tell you that the H110 has a 280mm radiator, and that such radiators often are not compatible with cases. I had similar problems with my NZXT Kraken x60, which caused my to change which case I selected.
