So I'm Helping a buddy build a system, and a few weeks back when we saw NZXT Kraken go on sale we jumped on it. Unknowingly the motherboard we got him also comes with a watercooling block built in to the chipset. So now that its time for the build, we are wondering if it is possible and what would be needed to add the mobo chipset to the watercooling loop? I would think it would just be some tubes. Any Recommendations?

Also, Im new to watercooling, but I believe the chipest would come second in the loop, with the CPU first due to its included pump

The kraken is a closed loop system and not meant to be changed! It would definitely void your warranty and then depending on how the tubes are attatched ,may not even work! Being a closed system there may not be any sleeves to slide tubes onto once you cut the old ones off!
In my opinion you would be better off to buy a pump, reservoir, and tubes, and do it your self with the correct equipment!

That being said, there is no real need for additional cooling to the v-synk. I have only air cooling on my maximus v formula board and the heatsinks are enough for the rest. I have an o.c. of 4.6g and my temps are around 27c idle and only ever reach mid 30's c I have maintained a 4.9 o.c stably with the same setup and temps were only about 2c higher!

We originally had no interest in any designated cooling for the chipset, but figured since we have the water cooling right there why not try. If it wasn't too expensive and the pump can handle it it wouldn't hurt.

I was hoping someone might have tried adding a component to the Kraken loop and be able to give me a concrete answer if something like this would work or not. If not its not a big deal, just wanted to try something different.

I haven't really seen much about the Kraken pump and I advise you not even try turning it into a pseudo-custom loop.

Sometimes you adding just a little bit to these closed loops can put too much strain on their pumps.

One of my buddies Lutifj had modified his Corsair H50, you can see a pic of it in the sticky below.

TBH the chipset doesn't really need watercooling, it's a bit of a gimmick now for mobo manufactures to put one on. All I can say is read the watercooling sticky!
