Will a SATA to 6-Pin Converter save my PSU

Right, I have a power supply unit, seems sturdy and gives my pc 500w, got it free with my computer case. I doesn't have a 6 pin connector, yes I know it's not the most safest PSU to have, but I'm strapped for cash and I'm getting a new gpu. If I got a 2 x sata to 6 pin would it give a 80w 7770 enough power to work?

Its recommended PSU requirements are 500w and 19A on the 12v rail. Your PSU on paper has the requirements but it is a tom tash (crappy) PSU so in reality it wont give you what it says on the tin. Chances are the card will work fine depending on what other equipment the PSU is running. Keep in mind i say chances are it will work for a time. Worst case you start playing demanding games and you burn out the power supply or the card wont function at full potential.
