PSU for HD 7970
May 12, 2013, 8:00 AM
I am currently experiencing, restarts after playing Crysis 3 for 10-15 min. I have determined that it is not overheating, as none of my temps get too high during game play. I recently upgraded my graphics card and think my PSU may not be able to handle it on full load. What do you guys think? My current PSU is:
My graphics card:
G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB DDR3 1600
GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD4H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
Intel Core i5-3570K
and of course the usual multiple hard drives etc.

Are you saying you think the PSU is under-powered? That would be good news as I am not looking forward to figuring out which part is causing the restarts if its not the PSU.

You said the psu is underpowered. I couldn't AGREE with you more. Give it what it needs.
