ASUS F2A85-V PRO M/B (new build) - Green LED (TBU) lights, otherwise no visible power to M/B.

Have you connected the 4/8 pin power connector to the motherboard?

Yes, I connected both the 20 pin and 4 pin to the main M/B power slot and also the 6 pin power to the CPU 8 pin slot (labeled EATX12V). Could it possibly be my 2 x 4GB memory sticks? They are Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9. In the M/B manual it lists a CMZ8GX3M2A1600C7R(XMP) as being suitable! I don't know enough about memory spec to know what the difference is! I did order the memory from the "suggested" additional items to buy for my build (I don't remember if it was on the M/B webpage or the CPU (AMD A10 5800K quad core).

No, It's the way you've connected the power cables.
Does the PSU have a EATX 4 pin power cable? The 6 pin one is PCIe (used for graphics cards).
What power supply using?
