Good morning gentlemen. I am looking to build a new PC for high end gaming (think something like Destiny or Elder Scrolls on Ultra and then some) while being able to open and work with very large files in Photoshop and premiere. I don't mind if the rig takes a tiny but longer to render if it saves me money though. I usually have the time.

Currently I run a MacBook pro 15" with an i7, 8gb ram and a 512 radeon something or other for work. It works fairly well and I will continue to use that for photoshop as well. I would simply like to use my 46" monitor for CS6 when I am at home. My current PC is old...ES6600, 4gb ram, radeon 5750. It was meant for Crysis 1 lol.

Approximate Purchase Date: First week of July-August

Budget Range: Under $2000 if possible

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Photoshop CS6, High end Gaming, Premiere Pro CS6

Are you buying a monitor: No, currently using a 46" 1080p tv

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg.com, frys.com

Location: San Diego, CA

Parts Preferences: Intel based

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080, possibly looking to upgrade to higher.

Additional Comments: Quiet PC would be great. I would like a white case. I also am getting my Leap Motion in the next month or two and would like to try and develop for that. Blu-Ray is important as well.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: New adventures in work and gaming require new equipment!

HD - $300 - WD Caviar Black 4TB - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236407

Total = $1956

The combo saves ya $102 so rather than buy everything individually and lose that, it's cheaper to just add a BR for $60 and either keep as a 2nd optical to make copies of DvDs or sell the DVD burner for $20
Blue Ray Burner - $60 - Asus Blue Ray Burner http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135252

Only problems with the combo...... It has high profile memory but since you not overclocking, you need not worry about interference with a 3rd party cooler.

That makes sense as well. I wanted to get am idea of what I had to spend though. I know 2000 is a good budget to work with and will give me a good PC. Only question is, is a 6gb video card worth it? I didn't even know those existed lol

They are worth it is you are going to do surround gaming (ie. Nvidia Surround or AMD Eyefinity). Otherwise, 4GB or even 2GB is worth it. I would recommend 4GB because on a 2K budget, you can get a very serious monitor, and that needs the more VRAM.
