All these parts are from NewEgg.com. i picked them out, I am trying to get a decent gaming computer for cheap ( under 800 ). I'm not gonna be playing intense games like Crysis or Skyrim, I'm gonna be playing Minecraft, Gmod, Portal and other steam games. But i need the PC to be good enough to run GTA 4 or Just Cause 2 on low to mid settings.

Case = NZXT Guardian 921 ATX Mid Tower Computer Case ($70)

CPU = AMD A8-5600K Trinity 3.6GHz (3.9GHz Turbo)Socket FM2 100W Quad-Core Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) ($110)

MoBo = MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 FM2 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard ($60)

Memory = G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9S-8GBXL (x2) ($55 each, $110 total)

HDD = Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM ($70)

Power Supply = Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply ($65)

Video Card = EVGA SuperClocked+ 03G-P4-3663-KR GeForce GTX 660 Ti 3GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card ($320)

Total without shipping and handling = $750

I need help finding out if all these components would fit and please post suggestions if you like. I also need to know if i should go with 16gb of ram or just leave it at 8gb. My friend told me that I shouldn't go with a cheap CPU and an expensive graphics card but some people online say that it doesn't make a difference so i need that answered as well. If my friend was right then please give me links to the CPU or graphics card or any component you feel is good. Thank you

For gaming, the normal CPU and expensive Graphics Card works. If you are doing rendering or editing you will need a good processor.

2 4GB RAM sticks is a good idea, but if you want 8GB, go ahead. It's your choice.

If you plan on doing heavy video editing and the like, 16GB of ram would be the optimal choice. If you're going mostly gaming, 8GB is perfectly fine.

A dual-kit (2x4) ram is much better than (1x8), as you will be able to make use of the increased performance from a dual-channel configuration.

The power supply you could go lower, say 500~520 watts.

Yes, your friend is right, you would not be able to fully utilize your video card's performance with your processor. A good match for the 660 Ti would be the i5-3570K.

Alright I think I'm gonna go with 8gb (2x4gb). But I really need to know if Intel is worth it because I think it's kinda overpriced for the performance, not in general. I've seen alot of videos showing how AMD runs just as good as intel and even better in some games. Oh and how can I tell how much wattage I need?

Alright if I go with an intel then would this be good? http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemNumber=N82E168191...

This is a great online power supply calculator.

It is worth it. However, if you have a limited budget, then you would most likely have to consider a lower end cpu. That said, at its price range, it offers the best performance, or as they say, the best bang for your buck.

This should be a good motherboard: it can handle the i5 3570K and is below $100.

Can that motherboard take an i5-3470 Ivy Bridge? Because I might get that instead of the i5-3570k

Yes, it can fit LGA 1155 socket family of cpu's, of which the i5-3470 is part of.
