I have been trying to find an answer or help on this for 2 days to no avail, so I'm giving in and asking. I just did a build using the mobo in the subject, an I5 3570K and a 7970GHz edition and all is mostly fine, however there is one nagging issue I can't resolve.
The system boots without issue and restarts without issue when restarting from Windows or at the request of an application. It shuts down and comes back up no problem... That said, if I go into the bios and make a change then save and exit, the system reboots fine and I hear the Windows jingle, but I have no video. This only happens when rebooting from the bios through save and exit, not when forcing a boot device. It also happened during the Windows reinstall on the second or third reboot.
The card is in the PCIE16 slot and works fine during a normal boot, is showing up properly in device manager, is using PCIE 3.0/16, etc. Internal graphics are disabled and I have it set to init display first from PEG.
Any ideas? I'm stumped....
