I just put together my first pc but nothing turns on when I try to boot it. The specs are:
Motherboard - MSI LGA1155
Processor - Intel Core i5-3470 Quad Core
Ram - Corsair Vengeance (2 X 4 GB)
Power Supply - Corsair Builder Series CX 500 Watt ATX
Hard Drive - Samsung 840 Series 120 GB SSD
I've taken it apart and reconnected everything a few times but still nothing turns on, does anyone have any advice?

Question when you say nothing turns on does that include the case fans and CPU fan? Did you check to make sure the switch on the back of the PSU is in the on position? I have seen this before on first builds where the power switch was in the off position it is easy to miss.

It includes the case fan and the CPU fan. I did a test on the power supply thanks to bryonhowley and the power supply does work.

Well you need to RMA it.. Happened to me on my first build. Never buying Corsair again. They used to be real good but now it's been crap. More and more, I've been hearing about Corsair power supplies being DOA. My CX430 arrived dead and that truely was a bummer. My friend also bought the same exact corsair model as you and it was dead.
