The MB and processor will work fine together, and if the RAM is DDR3 it will too. But it would be a better gaming performing PC if you went with a MB that can handle the newer Vishera line of AM3+ processors (FX-x3xx) rather than the older FX-4100 Bulldozer. The board you list may be this version 1 MB: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4122#ov
It doesn't support the better FX-4300, 6300, 6350, 8320, or 8350 processors. Look for the version of that board that supports one of those processors and get whichever of those processors you can best afford.
Here is that same board in version 1.1: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4297#
And in version 3.0: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4385#
Both of which support the newer Vishera line of processors.

This is a good site to go to to put together your PC. A lot of guys use it to find the best prices.

If you are intent on going with an AMD processor, the FX-6300 or 6350 is the 'sweet spot' in that line for gaming. Less expensive than the 8 cores but not far behind in power. Here is a hierarchy chart you can use to see where the processors fall in relation to each other for gaming:

Why would you think you'd have to get an "older" graphic card? Any MB that has a PCIe X16 expansion slot will be able to use the HD 7770.

If you are building this PC from scratch, simply slip the card into the card in the slot and plug in the power cable for it. When you install Windows, it will find a generic driver for the card to get you up and running. After Windows is fully installed, you can install the driver that came on disk with the HD 7770 or download the latest driver from the AMD website: http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/downloads.aspx

I read on a article about a week and a half ago, and someone had built identical computer and the person said, he/she couldn't get hd 7770 ghz edition to work and someone pointed out they needed older graphics card for it to work.

There may have been other circumstances causing the card not to function. Unless the MB is defective, that card will work fine.
