I've recently gone from wireless to wired internet connection but my computer doesn't pick up the cable. I tried the cable on my playstation 3 and it worked fine I've disabled the network adapter already but that didn't make a difference, can anyone help and windows 7 is my operating system

enable it in the BIOS or use the motherboard disc to install the driver or go online and get the right drivers.

If you have never used it, it probably is enabled in BIOS but no driver installed so check device manager for yellow exclamation mark.

Disabling the adapter will make it stop working, so don't do that. Enable it again. Hook up the cable to the computer, do you have lights on the network port on the PC and on the router? Does the computer actually say "cable disconnected" or is the issue that you can't get online?
