the deluxe has:
2 extra pci-e slots.
2 extra sata 6 gbps raid ports
a slightly better audio chip
built in wireless chip
2x extra usb 2.0 ports on the rear panel
2x extra usb 3.0 ports on the real panel
4x less usb 2.0 ports on the i/o panel

and some other minor things.

not worth it unless you need those non essential features...

Thanks. Am I correct in thinking that the P8Z77-V has a built in wireless chip also?

And I think (but not sure) that Deluxe supports Thunderbolt, but standard model does not?

the deluxe does not support thunderbolt. it's a new version of the P8Z77-V PRO that does.

Well, I didn't realize that the P8Z77-V is without on-board wireless. I might consider the Deluxe a worthwhile purchase after all.

you can probably just spend money on a pci-e wireless card (which will probably be better than the one built in)

Yep...What I meant is that with the additional cost of the card the price difference is not so much, so the Deluxe is more "worth it" than I had previously thought...Although as you say, the card will be better quality so if I don't really want the extras the standard board still remains the better option anyway. Thanks for the info.
