2.5 inch laptop hard drive without the cover

I am saving information from a old dell inspiron that will not start.
My plan was to remove the hard drive and connect it to my desktop using a IDE to USB adapter.
When I got the drive out, however, I saw the 4 power pins, but no 40 others.
After looking at Wikipedia, I realized that the cover had been removed.
What is the best way to get the information off this hard drive?

    laptop idr drives are not setup exactly like their desktop counterparts.
    They are grouped closer together to form 1 large but smaller connector. Like this:

    If you only see the 4 pins on the side its likely you have another connector already on the ide connector which should just slide off unless theres a houseing you need to remove. Maybe something like this:
