I have heard that the new nvdia 700 serie is just a rebrand of the 600 serie and if that is the case, is it worth to buy the 760ti or 770 or 780?
Or shall i just wait for the new AMD line end of the year?
I have atm still a 5850

The 600 series IS in fact just a rebrand, and will be (as far as we know) hideously expensive. I'd wait for the 9000 series; AMD is apparently skipping the enthusiast lineup of the 8k series and will be releasing the 9k series, based on the volcanic island chips, the end of 2013.

So far as i can tell, they're rumors, so until we see an official confirmation of this or actual benchmarks come launch day, i'd take this info with a pinch of salt.

as for whether or not you should upgrade now, really depends how patient you are; getting a new card now is at least a major improvement, and if you've been fine with 5850 these last few years, then you're fine for another two more gens of GPU with a current high end card.

on the other hand, stating the obvious, you may well see some significant improvement with AMD's 8000 series, and much more so with Nvidia's 700 series if all this is just a wild rumor, at the same price point now with current cards.

there's no real guarantee either way but to wait and see how it all goes.
