Hey Everyone!!

My Artic Silver 5 has a 200 hour "burn-in time".

Do i have to do anything special, or just no overclocking until after 200 hrs.

also, if i appy the thermalpaste while fitting the H100i, and then i go and finish the build and not boot it for another 2 hours, will that thermalpaste be bad after 2 hours without a boot?

It means that the computer has to be running for 200 hours before you start overclocking. Between that and the fact that AS5 is conductive, most of us prefer other higher end pastes now. AS5 used to be the king, but now other pastes are just as good, non-conductive, and don't require the burn in time.

Just something to consider for next time - now that you've got it, just be careful applying it and wait before overclocking. As for putting the build together, you're fine to do that, but I'd suggest installing the H100i last, as that way the tubing won't get in the way of everything else.

There is very little difference in cooling performance from first applying it to when it's fully cured, go ahead and go nuts w/ overclocking right away if that's your thing.

as for the whole "Arctic Silver 5 is conductive" statement, the makers disagree.

Not Electrically Conductive:
Arctic Silver 5 was formulated to conduct heat, not electricity.
(While much safer than electrically conductive silver and copper greases, Arctic Silver 5 should be kept away from electrical traces, pins, and leads. While it is not electrically conductive, the compound is very slightly capacitive and could potentially cause problems if it bridges two close-proximity electrical paths.)

Didn't know that about the curing; I thought it was fairly significant.

And yeah, you're perfectly right about it not being conductive; that was completely my bad. I saw it somewhere a couple weeks ago and went, "huh," but never really thought about it before starting to use it as advice.
