No matter what I try to do, I simply cannot partition my Seagate ST3000DM001 3GB beyond 2GB. As far as I can tell, all required drivers have been installed to my Fatal1ty Z77 motherboard.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that it was a Fatal1ty Z77 motherboard (now corrected). I'm pretty sure that I used MBR instead of GPT so I will go and check my bias settings now - thanks!
