If your regular average joe user, that is basic and want overall easy performance in most of the software go with intel i5.

However if you are power user, that finds yourself testing and practicing with new stuff like me in my case i played with 3D design using google sketch and Virtualization, especially KVM and virtualbox for example i quote:

- Between Intel's Sandy Bridge and AMD's Bulldozer for KVM virtualization, the relative performance was generally quite close between these competing latest-generation architectures. If looking at the harmonic mean of the over three dozen tests that were run, the Intel Core i7 3960X was running at 93% the speed of bare metal with KVM while the AMD FX-8150 came in at 90% the speed of the bare metal Bulldozer. Alternatively, with the geometric mean of all the results, the i7-3960X was at 85% the speed of bare metal while the AMD FX-8150 was at 88%. VirtualBox on the FX-8150 was at 85% while the problematic VirtualBox-on-Sandy-E was at 59%. Xen on Sandy-E came in at 94%.

If you are power user, and like to experiment with stuff like me, then the AMD bullzoder is much better, the 8 threads will surely benefit all those workloads, cause most of the power user application are multi-threaded, but if your not really heavy user, just go with intel.

Thnx for the suggestion mate. But i7 processors are costly when compared to AMD. In India, price almost doubles.

For the love of every God ever created by man, don't listen to the fan boys. Tek Syndicate has compared the 8350 to the 3570 and the 8350 won most of the time, and even with slight overclocking you can make the 8320 perform at an 8350's level.
