help with laptop acer aspire

need help with acer laptop grandson has been downloading cheats for his games , well looks like he downloaded for the last time when I turn laptop on it says loading windows ,the goes into start up repair, it now says windows cannot repair this computer automatically press finish, when I do this it starts up again and does the same thing ? I have no task bar ,start , or close ,some one told me to press f8 on start up which I have done to no avail I just get a load buzzing noise every time I press it like an alarm,it is a acer aspire 1640 . any help would be goo . thankyou .

If windows will not boot.
Power computer on. Hold Alt and keep pressing F10 at the Acer logo. You may need a password. If you have used Erecovery before you would have been asked to create a password.
If your first Erecovery the default password is 000000
Select Factory

I have put the 000000 it says user name or pass word incorrect I cannot change the user name that is what is written in that box .

no I cannot progress but I have took laptop to shop and they say it wants windows re installing ? not sure what to do as they have quoted me in access of £150 just that it sounds a lot .

You can do it yourself, Windows 7 is downloadable from Digital River

Make sure the version you choose is the same as is on your COA sticker on the base of the laptop. (Home Premium?)
You will need to burn the ISO to a DVD or a 4Gb USB flash drive if the 1460 has no optical drive. Then we'll discuss drivers...(tomorrow!)

It's not that hard to reinstall windows. And your grandson may have ended up downloading a virus if what you're referring to are cracks he's got. Next time, it may be wise to run an antivirus program
