the 3820 is really 2k series tech. just a high end version. im confident that haswell will be faster in 90% of benchmarks. with the 3820 only winning in graphic design programs and the like. but gaming im sure haswell will win out. assuming you get one of their better chips.

Agree but haswell high end cpu wont come out until end 2013 begin 2014 and since my old system is broken i really cant wait a year for it.

haswell comes out next month.
and if you cant wait anytime at all. why are you asking about a product not out, at all?

oh.. for gaming just get a 3570k, if you like to do graphic design, 3d animation or programs like those. get a 3770k. these two perform the same in games. so if games is your main interrest then go with the cheaper one. the 3850 does slightly worst than the other two in games but better in professional apps.

for more info just check out cpu charts here on tomshardware.
