I'm trying to figure out how much if any Improvement in my gaming there would be if I upgraded my Graphics card.I'm running an Intel dual core e5200 with 2.50ghz processor.Currently I have a HD6450 DDR3 1GB (silent) card installed.I mostly play CSS,LFD2 & I've just downloaded Armour2 with the Dayz mod.So my question is- with this system will another graphics card give me any improvement to my gaming experience? & if so..what sort of difference would I expect to see? thanx for any input/opinions

Solution
yeah 7750 should fill your needs. you should be able to run many modern games with medeium to high settings with good frame rate.though your CPU might hold you back.

Thanx for the input mate :) ..anything more specific u could add would be appreciated.CiSd stands for "computer illiterate single dad" When I upgraded from the 3450 (i think it was) I really didnt notice much if any difference to anything. How would a 7750 improve things? (how would it improve my ingame) would it be a clearer picture? better colour? better response times or fps? would my aim be better lol

Yeah i was trying to decide whether to bite the bullet & upgrade to a new pc or if a new upgraded graphics card might buy this old beast a bit more time :)

You'd have more fps and would be able to turn the graphics up higher.

That being said, if you're having trouble with lag, a processor upgrade might be more beneficial - the graphics card will give you more maximum and average fps, but the processor is what affects the minimum fps.

7750 is a midrange card. and as far as i know 3450 and 6450 both are entry level cards. and with that ou will see lets say clearer picture. with high resulution and settings and better fps though it might get slower on the most demanding games at high res and settings. overall you will see a good increase. though if you do experience little less performance than you expected that it maybe because of your CPU.

Just an FYI: DayZ is a very CPU reliant game. If you want a decent framerate, you may need a CPU upgrade.

For the majority of games, the HD 7750 will be just dandy with your current CPU, however you should be aware that your CPU will probably need to be replaced if you want to play next-gen games once the new consoles come out. :)

I'm noticing 2 different 7750's..one is 2gb DDR3 & one is 1gb GDDR5..which one is considered better?? DDR3 or GDDR5? theyre both about the same price.

GDDR5 as its memory is faster but i strongly recommend upgrading your CPU later on to enjoy the full benifit of that card....

yep that will be the next job..to upgrade the cpu..so is the extra 1gb they add to the ddr3 to make up for its shortfalls against the GDDR5? making it more comparable? or is it just a newer/different version?

Your overall system will bottleneck that graphics card though. You might get somewhat better results than before but if you're ever going to play games like Bioshock Infinite you'll need to upgrade again.

DDR3 is more like a low profile version of this card. GDDR5 is faster thus offer you superior performance.and you wont need 2GB memory on that card. id doesnt have the power to utilize 1Gb completely [ or does it?? ] let alone 2gb.

Ok...sounds like its a 7750 with 1Gb GDDR5 is the best choice for me & my system. Thanks to all who gave input & opinions. It's much appreciated. It should buy this old beast a bit more time before I upgrade to a new system.
