Iomega HD Not detected

I bought an Iomega 1TB Hard drive 2 years ago (2011) (Model No. GDHDU2). I put some data on it straight away. For 1 month after I was able to view and use this data. After this month, the hard drive stopped working; I plug it in to a power supply and connect the USB to my laptop. The blue light comes on, but my laptop (and all the other laptops and PC's I've tried) does not read/register that anything is connected. I tried replacing the USB cable. Regardless, the external hard drive does not show up in either my computer or disk management... Cheers, Aaron

You can try free data recovery software like recovia. The people that made ccleaner and defragler. If the software can't see your drive it could be the drive inside failed or the little controller card in the case. If you need the data then I would open the case and try the drive connected to a pc or in another in closer.
