My problem is that I cannot get the BIOS of a DC5800 SFF computer to recognize and support an E8400 Intel Processor. The OS on the computer is Win7 Home Premium x64. The current BIOS version is v1.59, which I have found after investigating the HP website, to be the highest available. The recognition is possible as I have seen the processor in such a model run without the BIOS error.

I believe I require a BIOS microcode update however I have not found one that supports Win7 Home Premium x64, the one on HPs website supports the x32 version. I've come here to find if anyone else has discovered and fixed this problem; it is older hardware so it would not be terribly surprising if this has been resolved a long, long time ago but I still need to fix the problem.

Please lend your aid.
