Hello guys,

I've been using my self-built PC for some time now and it has worked perfectly until the last few months. It started off with what seemed like short freezes/laggyness at the start of Windows 7 booting (after logging in and all) these short freezes were somewhat common and would not only freeze the screen but would also freeze audio from a split-second or a few. Later on those freezes started to occur when it had fully booted as well sometimes after an hour or a few it would randomly do that several times.

These freezes were minor problems until it would actually fully freeze my pc sometimes at the start of booting (again after logging in when it's all loading) the only way to get out of that situation was by turning off the pc by holding the power button, this started to happen more frequently but rarely after booting.

Now just a few days ago I tried to boot my pc (my dad pulled the power cord out so this might have something to do with it) but it wouldn't boot. You could hear the power go on, the fans running and you could hear the HDD run as well but nothing would display. The pattern of the fan did sound different from a good boot though, normally it would boot making a loud whir/fan noise. I could turn off the pc by holding the power button again and I tried booting it again and again with no luck. Then I pulled the power cord and held down the power button for a few seconds and then turn it on with power again and it would actually boot for some reason.

Does anyone know what might be the cause of these problems ? I have one tried to fix it by switching to a different OS (win8) but I broke that win8 partition by trying to make it bigger, the windows 8 OS did run better without problems though which would make me think it is an OS related problem. But as I now also have problem booting before even loading the OS I begin to suspect that it is a hardware problem.

I did run the memory diagnostic tool or whatever it was called and it did find problems (but it didn't show more).

Any help would really be appreciated ! I will installing windows 8 on a different partition just to try it out again and check whether it is the OS in the meanwhile.

Thanks !

Pining~

I will be adding a dxdiag file later on for more info !

Okay so sorry for a late response, and I still haven't ran memtest86 yet, I've been quite busy.. So today I turned on my pc again and it froze again, not only did it just freeze it also looked really weird. I took a few pictures;http://imgur.com/o85X3SQ,nccaPqA#0 http://imgur.com/o85X3SQ,nccaPqA#1
I have no idea what happened but things like this would make me believe there is something wrong with my graphics card right ?

Please tell me if you have a clue as to what might be happening to my pc :(
