Is It Safe To Leave A PC On 24/7? :)

Hi there, I just built myself a new file server which consists of:

Intel Celeron @2.6Ghz (Socket 478)
2x 80GB Hard Drives
Bestec ATX-250
An Emachine 220 Motherboard (Unable to find model)
Windows XP Home W/ Teamviewer

I have round the clock access to it as I have teamviewer running all the time, the PC is also in a cupboard in a hard to-get-to place, so if there was a fire or anything, it would take some time to get to it. My other (quite big) concern is that the cupboard it's in is full of old carpet! Could this cause a fire?!?!

Any Help Would Be Appreciated! :)

Computers are meant to be left on, every so often like once a week, letting it stay off to cool down would be a good idea. I have had a server running for 3 years, hasn't been turned off more than 3 times in 3 years. Running perfectly.

As others have stated, computers are designed to be running 24/7. If this is a client computer (not a server), then I do recommend restarting it once a week to clear the RAM and fix any memory leaking issues that may be occurring.
