Graphic card driver problem

Hello, this is my second post, but since the other one wasn't answered and my problem has changed I'll repost. So I install Windows 7 64 Ultimate and then i try to install the ATI drivers (Catalyst Control Center). Everything goes fine, but when i reboot i get a black, blank screen. I have tested most versions out there; nothing works. Sometimes after the black screen when I start the computer the monitor won't display anything and the keyboard, which usually glows when I start, doesn't glow (Razer Lycosa). My question is if it can be fixed, and if no, where is the problem? Is the graphic card screwed or somethin else? I am already saving money for the 7950 :D. MY graphic card is a 6950 unlocked, i5 760 2,8 GHz, 2x4 Gb RAM and a 750W power supply and an ASUS P7P55D. Thanks! :)
PS. I have ran memtest and everything seems fine. I have also tried to install only the display driver and not the rest (like CCC and HydraVision) and the problem persisted.

Solution
Don't bother. That's a dead card. I know what you mean now, I had the same problem with an old 5870. RMA'd it and the replacement ran fine. The screen would just go random colours and freeze. I also had the same exact problem today after installing Nvdia's 320.00 beta drivers on my GTX 680 Lightning. Had to take out my card and run integrated HD4000 graphics in safe mode to uninstall all drivers and delete the 320.00 download because when I started windows normally with my 680 back in, Windows kept on finding the download and installing it automatically. It was very frustrating  But yeah, as long as you aren't getting bluescreens and auto system restarts etc, it's a dead card. Get that new one. Can I ask what manufacturer you're...

For a time it worked, so sorry I didn't answer. I just remembered that I had modded the 6950, so I undid that, and for some time it worked (3 days). Now the problem is back. It seems that every time I launch Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox in normal Windows mode I get a black screen. Sometimes it crashes when I launch other programs too (I wanted to see the Event Log and windows crashed). After the blackscreen sound works for about 5 seconds, and then it stops. Please help, I'm going to try to reinstall the drivers now and I'll post here if it works.

Hm. Well try to reinstall drivers then tell me what happens. Hopefully someone else has had experience with issues like this. If it continues try contacting AMD support. I'm not sure how helpful they are as I've never needed to contact AMD support but I'm sure they'll help you sort out the issue if reinstalling drivers doesn't work.

Ok I reinstalled the drivers, same problem. Also another thing is that the computer seems to delete data from a little time before the crash, for example I just tried to answer and the computer crashed, but when i looked in history there wasn't an entry about me trying to answer, also i unpinned google chrome from quick launch so I wouldn't launch it by mistake, but then the computer crashed and the icon was again there. I think I will have to buy a new graphics card, I just wanna be sure it is what I need so I don't go spending 300$ for nothing :p.

See what concerns me is that I've never had a graphics card cause my OS to crash before. The worst that has happened to me is the drivers would lock up and my screen would freeze. But the computer would still be running. This makes me think that there's a possibility that it could be something else, such as a failing hard drive, bad PSU, dying RAM, etc. Does your computer get a blue screen or does it just shut down instantly? And does it restart after it shuts down? I'm still hoping someone else has something to say. I would still contact AMD support to see if they can confirm it's actually the GPU and not something else before you go blow 300$.

I've ran memtest for about two hours and there was no error, so the RAM should be fine. I don't know how to check if the HDD or PSU are bad. My screen usually just goes black, but sometimes it goes white or red with black stripes. One time it went all white, and one time it went black and white squared (don't know if that's the word, I checked on a translator xD). Also sometimes I have to wait for some time after I press reset on the computer for the restart. Sometimes it restarts instantly after I press the button. The computer never restarts by itself, so I don't think it's an overheating issue. I got the first black screen after alt+tab back to FIFA 13. The computer runs fine when idle, I had it on for a whole day, and then I entered Google Chrome and it crashed. Also the day before yesterday (dunno if that's right) I could play Warcraft 3, but yesterday when I tried to start it i got a black screen. I'll try to contact AMD support.

I always recommend MSI for modern GPUs. They always seem to have great overclocking chips with amazing temps. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127667 I recommend getting that guy.

I was thinking about a Gigabyte Radeon HD7950 Windforce 3. It has pretty good reviews and it's 30$ cheaper than the one you recommended. But do you think that 30$ more is worth it? After this week I am mostly looking for stability XD.
EDIT: Do you know what might have caused the card to die? So I can avoid it with next cards :)

OK, so i have bought a new card ( Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950 Windforce 3) and it turned out the old card was just dead, it would have the same issue on another computer. THanks very much for your help!
