Yeah, it's like having a Lamborghini that goes slower than your old Buick. It means something's very wrong with your Lamborghini. Not that I speak from personal experience.

Possible, yes.
Better a sata connection than a ide connection.
But, a SSD should be vastly faster.
You have some sort of a problem.
You will be much better off to fix the problem.
Exactly what ssd do you have, and how is it currently connected to your pc?
