ok so im building a computer ONLY for music production and im sure every now and then ill surf the web on it. im not a gamer and dont even intend on buying a video card, also i have no intentions of overclocking at all, i just need something that will do the job for me without headaches. my goal was to stay at or under $800 on this and i think im on pace to do so or be real close.
anyway i have a few items in the shopping cart ready to be paid for but i thought id just ask you guys here if theres anything you may recommend im donig wrong or any input at all would be helpful in making my decisions final.
so here it is:

CPU-$160
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103961

MOBO-$150
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128514

SOUND CARD-$180
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829271006&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=6146836&SID=1mfe4m07rqo5y

MEMORY-$95
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820103036

That puts me at $585, leaves me $215.

I'm willing to drop at least:
150-180 on my hard drive.
25-40 on optical drive
75-125 on the PSU+Case combo
0 on video card (i dont care what the screen looks like)

Any suggestions will help me out a lot! I REALLLY dont want to exceed $900, but I'm starting to think i have no choice. Going to be running FL, Ableton, Protunes, to name a few. But anyway, does anyone have any thoughts on the MOBO-CPU combo? what kind of hard drive i could get for my money (pref. ssd)? any advice it all PLEASE!

Thanks!

would i have to buy a cooler for the cpu?

This should do well for your purposes. The i5 butchers the 8120 in everything, has integrated graphics, is less power hungry, and usually runs cooler.

Thats actually a lot better build than i had going after reading all the reviews, thanks man! I would be wiling to spend another 15-30 bucks on a better motherboard though, all the reviews on that one are pretty terrible.

Extra $150 over the other guys build for a better cpu (probably 5-25% faster on your cpu heavy audio applications) and a SSD.

Thanks Thanatos for all your help, its much appreciated! I have another question though a buddy of mine told me the case I bought is more than I need and that I can get a good case that would do the job for much cheaper than the one I bought.

Should I return the case and buy a different one to save some money for a ssd? Hes telling me for music production I should buy a 120gb ssd. And if I do return the case what case should I buy?

so far the build is

i paid 162 for the cpu (i5 3470)
i paid 58 for the 1tb of memory
i paid 28 for the optical drive
i paid 74 for the mobo below
