So I'm sure this question has been asked loads, yet I'm fresh to the world of building Computers. I've ordered all my parts for my first build and when I start to assemble my motherboard and CPU, I notice that the 3930k doesn't come with a heatsink. So if you guys have any recommendations as to what a viable heatsink would be, that would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if my motherboard matters but it's a Sabertooth X-79. As far as heatsink's go, it would be nice to have something that doesn't require liquid cooling yet is still pretty "High End", price range doesn't really matter at this point.

Thanks!

Yea with high end heat sinks you need to make sure you have compatible RAM. A good high end CPU cooler would be the Noctua NH-D14, Phanteks PH-TC14PE, and the Thermalright Silver Arrow SB-E Extreme or non Extreme version, it's just different fans.

Something less beefier but performs close to those high end coolers would be the Xigmatek Dark Knight II Hawk Edition and the NZXT Havik 140.
