Fans speed up/slow down fast

I've recently noticed that the fans in my computer (I can't be sure if they're the case fans or if it's the CPU cooler or built in GPU fan) are speeding up and slowing down a lot, or at least it sounds like it.

When I say a lot, I mean like 10-20 seconds fast, 10-20 seconds slow, over and over, but it is a little inconsistent.

Does anyone know a possible cause for this? And if so, are there any usable fixes?

Cheers!

James

first you need to find what fan is causing the issue.

the reason it is doing it is because the temp sensor that is controlling that fan is right at the point of needing to boost it and the boost cools it to the point it needs to slow down, at this point it heats back up and repeats. think of your fan curve as a set of stairs. As the temp rises to a certain point it levels up the fan speed thus you hear the raise in speed.

To combat this you need to some how change the steps to a curve. This is why I said you need to figure out which fan is the issue. Most times with this issue it is the GPU fan and can be fixed with MSI afterburner and making a custom fan curve.

EDIT: FYI riva tuner helped develop MSI After Burner/ EVGA Precision/ His iTurbo and maybe more they will all work I just personally use MSI and am accustom to the look and operation.
