Greetings

I'm currently in the process of building a PC, until it dawned to me about how efficient is the cooling and air circulation in the case.

I own a Antec Eleven Hundred Mid Tower. It currently has a stock 200mm Top fan and 120mm rear fan.

I'm curious if this is really enough to keep the system cool and adjusted.

If not, or if anyone has had any experience with this case. what would be a suitable addition to the cooling network and type of fans.

(I should note that i'm not planning on overclocking at this time, can't afford to replace parts if something goes wrong)

First and foremost, the Antec Eleven Hundred has all the capabilities for excellent airflow. That was a great decision on your part. :)

Moving on. Fans are not for cooling. You can add 100 fans to your case and it would not be any cooler than your room temperature. The important thing is not how many fans you have, but rather how good the airflow is. Air is a very poor heat conductor. Therefore, you want air to move the heat up so they don't get bottled up, trapped, or make other components hotter.

By stock configuration, it's set up for negative internal air pressure. Not ideal because air doesn't get moved through the case, but rather it's just getting pulled from whichever direction and exiting. So to aid this, put 4x 120mm fan in the front and behind the cage. This push/pull configuration is perfect to get great airflow through into the case. Without the fans on behind the HDD cage to pull air through, most of the air will be obstructed before it gets inside the case.

You do not need fans on the front side panel. If you have a motherboard with CPU parts on the back, then the back side panel can help by extracting heat.

Good luck.

Alright, i'm gonna play dumb only so i don't misunderstand anything.(its been quite some time since ive put a new rig together) in which way should these 4 fans be placed in the front bay? how much power would this suck up from my PSU (I have a corsair HX750) and where u suggesting adding a fan on the Mobo/CPU back panel (if so, which fan?)

Oh, almost forgot (and this being really out there, but i'm just that rusty) would the fans that are already installed into the case, would those already be powered by PSU when its installed, or those also will need to be connected to the mobo ( I ask because the specs tell me i only 4 chassis fan connectors, excluding the optimal and CPU fan connector)

All the fans should face the same way. The back side, where you see the wire, usually with a grill-like design will be the direction that air will come through. So you would install all four fans with the back side facing inside the case. Worse case, you installed them wrong and so you flip them. Just feel with your hands which way air is moving.

It's unlikely that you have a motherboard that have CPU components on the back of the motherboard. So it's not necessary to add a fan on the back panel. There is only one place so there's really shouldn't be a question of "where".

The fans take up negligible power. A Corsair HX 750W is a safe choice. The major power hog in your system would be your graphics cards.

As for where the fans should be connected, that's up to you. Either to the PSU directly, any spare chassis fan connectors, or to a fan controller. The chassis will come with two fans pre-installed (the top and rear exhaust fans).
