Hello, this is my first time posting, and I just wanted some help with regards to my pc.

As you can see from the title, my main issue is that after a certain event/update, my pc was unable to perform at all in any game, it is a very decent gaming rig and just last week could run any game pretty well. My latest example was me being able to run sniper elite 2 on max, and league of legends on max(last 2 games I played). This update involved the MSi live update which seemingly just did a small update to the bios, prompting a dos screen and then automatically restarting my pc. I thought nothing of it as it seemed normal. However, since then, any game I play, I experience awful performance issues from my pc, very much feels like im playing on a bad laptop(because I have one), the frames drop rapidly and frequently throughout playing any game, and there doesnt seem to be an apparent reason I can grasp. I do not know what is wrong.

some specs at the top of my head:

gtx 660ti gpu
fx 8150 cpu
msi 760gm-p23 mobo

this system has run great, and I had a new case installed with multiple new fans aswell some months ago, so it cannot be overheating. I would like to see if someone has had any experience with this and if you know what I can do to solve this issue. A clean reinstall of windows might solve it, but I hope that I do not need to do so at this time.

one more thing, I do not notice anything wrong until i get into a game, I can play movies and youtube clips without it spiking or lagging.

thanks for any help provided.

Is there any way that the update can be reversed? Often bad drivers or faulty software are to blame for this. I had a similar issue where my games displayed many wireframe-like lines across the screen after an update, and have not been able to reverse it yet.

I did my best to revert some things, I had did a system restore and also reverted gpu driver updates too, the issue remained. I am still trying to find out if its possible to revert the updates for a bios, but no luck so far.
