Do you have an OEM version of Windows 7 or a full version. Legally, you can't install that Windows 7 on a new PC if it's an OEM version. that version is tied to that MB and upon reinstallation, it probably won't activate with that code.
Step one: don't do pointless silly sidegrades. If you feel no need to put that money into retirement don't rub it in. Just make your stupid choice.
