These are my GPU-Z readings from Battlefield 3 while playing with a MSI 6970 Lightning, as you see i had to down clock the card from its stock 940Mhz core clock to 880 Mhz just to get it to run with out crashing the game. These temps seem to run a little on the high side i think. This card is brand new from MSI they sent me this to replace my 6870 Afterburner that died on me. Does anyone else that has this card have issues with it running to hot or crashing at its stock speeds. I have them replacing my other 6970 with a lightning also so i can go back to crossfire. Had 2 6970 afterburners but the no longer have them in stock so they are replacing both with the lightning editions. Just need help figuring out why the crash at the stock 940Mhz.

I dont know where GPU-Z is getting those temps from. When i check gpu temp with aith my asus utility i only get the one temp and it goes to 84 on there . At idle they GPU-Z reads them at 38 , 38 , 41 , and 41.

I have tried 3dmark 11 and other games it does same thing. it will run all day once the core clock is dropped past 900Mhz. anything 900 and over it crashes. tested it in 3 other computers does same thing. this will be the second card i got from msi that was either doa or faulty to replace my original 6970. Have talked to tech support and they want to rma this one. This will make almost two months of no crossfire 6970's. So i will email them back and see what they are going to do now.
