I'll do my best to describe the problem, I tried searching but couldnt find anyone else with this issue.

it started while trying to update the firmware on my ocz ssd. since I installed windows on it already I just checked using the ocz utility, it needed to be updated. I know you cant update the primary so I installed another copy of windows 7 I had on a regular hd, than booted it, and used the utility to update the firmware on ssd.

The trouble is now whenever I start or restart its trying to choose between 2 different versions of windows 7, and I cannot get it to forget the other one. even after I removed the drive it was installed on, It always presents me with this screen.

I tried putting the windows cd back in and going to repair, The repair portion of the program also sees the other version of windows but there is no option to remove it or set the funcioning one as a default. I just says unknown location. so every time I start my computer I have to hit enter to select the installation I want. I made sure I selected the ssd in bios, I even reformated the ssd to try to erase any evidence of the 2nd installation and reinstalled windows, It till comes back with the same screen. I just want to turn on my computer and have windows load without going to this menu. thanks for looking, hope to fix this soon!

Solved this myself! Opened MSCONFIG and was able to delete the 2nd bogus install under the boot tab. hope this helps anyone else out in the future if they run into a similar issue!
