I bought an old Compaq 2210b netbook pretty cheep. Wanted something small I could take around to do simple tasks. Was told it black screened when not plugged in and it was suggested to me that it was a battery fault. I just bought a new battery for it and it is still doing the same thing.
Without being plugged in it boots up fine. Without doing anything intensive it seems to be fine. As soon as I try and run anything it will go black. All the lights stay up, nothing changes other than going black. I can't open task manager or do anything to make the screen flicker.
It is currently running windows 7 professional but I haven't purchased a licence for it yet.
