Specs

OCZ Stealth 600 Watt
i52500k OC 4.6 ghz in turbo mode
Asus maxiumus z68 gen3 motheroard
2 x 4 GB 1600 Ripjaws Memory
VTX3D 7950 X-Edition Gfx
Patriot Pyro 240gb SSD
1TB Seagate Barracuda
Pioneer 119 DVDR
Xclio

Ok every thing runs totally stable 65-70c under full load with prime 95 on the cpu at 4.6 ghz

Gfx card 100 percent load 69c 1100/1575 mhz

Problem is if I turn my case fans or Gfx card fan or the voltage control setting up to 20 percent with ccc I get reboots. I thought my PSU would be good enough to do the job. But I am pretty sure it is the psu that is the problem.

I am pretty sure I need a more powerful PSU. Any suggestions for a 750W upwards that's not gonna cost a fortune?

I'm also thinking it's your PSU the problems....

how much budget u had? u can aim for bronze/silver PSU....

I have been looking at xfx and corsair as it seems they seem to be the most efficient I was looking at around £70 I have spotted a corsair GS700 gaming psu for £63 on a website called wae.com I am just wondering is a extra 100 watt enough grunt? I might decide to go down the corossfire or sli route at some point so I am thinking 850? but the we are getting a bit expensive

Gonna have to disagree. That psu has a large enough rail to handle what you have with comfort. So it's not the size that's the problem. You may have a faulty psu, or v control. Boot to bios screen, or if you have a program, launch and monitor closely as you slowly adjust the control for any variation more than 3% of specified rail voltage.

Could you post exact specs on what is connected and how to it? This could be a short issue, overdraw issue, feedback issue, or channel limitation issue. But size of psu it is not. How many fans are connected? What size, and amps if you know them. Connected to mobo pins or direct to a psu line? Have you testted your system for stability after OC with a proper stress test? In other words how long of prime 95? Is your gpu OC'd?

The voltage of your fans and your card run off different rails, so one should not affect the other.
A 750w is really only needed when running 2gpu. 600w is more than capable of your cpu OC (approx 95-110w) and your gpu (115-125w stock if I recall) and your various addons.

It only does when I am over clocked.
So too me it seems like a power issue. I know what your saying that my psu should be more than enough to cope but with the GPU and PCU over clocked they will be drawing a lot more power. I had the same problem with another pc using a cheap psu and that was rebooting swapped it for an old heavy half decent one and it'a been fine ever since. I have had this PSU about 5 years so It's likely on it's way out to be honest. Specs are above. Thanks

The wattage usage I posted is OC range wattage. But yes, 5yrs it may be ready to pop, and definitely weaker then. Have you watched rail values as suggested? Good way to verify your diagnosis

What you have suggested seems like very sound advice you also seem to know a hell of a lot more than me about psu's but some of what you have said as pretty much gone straight over my head. I know quite a bit about computers but when it comes to PSU voltages and checking the amps etc I am total a novice unfortunately.

I have checked the temps and stability with both furmark and prime 95 and neither one goes above 69C at full load

OCZ StealthXStream 600W
12v:18A
12V:18A
12V:18A
12V:18A
Total 12v= 580w

I was just looking through some other threads and someone with a similar system and set-up got this response.

Your 600W is just about going to make ends meet. I would suggest going for an 800W 80% Efficiency Plus type of PSU.
Since you're already overclocking and the scope for going higher is there. I would not only suggest but insist on an 800W PSU since if you plan to game heavily on the rig, it's going to suck up a little more than 600W on the GPUs itself.... could lead to random restarts and reboots.

Sorry to keep replying. But can I get the voltage information from my bios? And let you know that way?

In your bios interface, it will list it there - alternatively, using a hardware monitoring software would also have it such as from cpu-z website or openhardwaremonitor.org

580w yes, but you didnt accout for 5v and 3v amp avail which makes up the remainder.

In the reply you quote, notice the plural reference to GPUs. As I said previously, 750w and above is needed for 2 gpu. 600 is fine for a single
