Hi, I'm looking for suggestions for a sound card that can do spdif pass through for PS3, and Xbox 360. I would like it to go though the sound card and perhaps somehow enhance the audio. Basically I would like something that would allow the PS3 or Xbox to go though the sound card and have it filter through and then output the sound card while having DTS and DDL, Dolby ect. My expansion slots is PCIe. My computer is a Lenovo Ideacentre k330b 77472nu.

*Edit: Optical input and output please.

do you want to pass your sound from your consoles to the computer for dts, ddl and dolby?
if the games you are playing dont have those then your sound card wont output that either
i can only think of dolby pro logic ii which makes a 2 speaker configuration sound like a surround 5 speaker configuration
and you might want to consider a receiver instead of a sound card (assuming your not using computer speakers)
they can amplify a sound and provide a much better audio quality then a sound card would

I thought about too, but then again any decent receiver like Onkyo TX-NR609 or Denon AVR-1912/1913 will cost about 400 USD. Add the cost of decent speakers and an active sub and you can easily top the 1000 USD mark :D

I would like to pass through my console my PS3. If possible I would like to get anything that the the sound card may add. Like any extra gaming advantage. I just recently got the Logitech Z906 and I would like to utilize the system to its fullest capability.

The Logitech Z906 are computer speakers so a receiver will not be of much use here
in this case a sound card will improve your audio experience
you should look into the creative line of sound blasters recon3d

some of their sound cards are not labeled gaming but they have gaming features notheless

I currently have the Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional and I don't believe that I would get the 5.1 encoding from the PS3 if I attached it to the sound card optical in then from the sound card optical out. Correct me if I'm wrong. I would like to get the gaming effects from the sound card as well as get true 5.1 from the sound card & PS3.
