I've been really looking forward to my first full build. The last of the parts came yesterday and I plugged everything in as per tecmo34's step by step guide. Then nothing happened. I checked for loose screws and shorts, tried swapping RAM and finally ended up tearing everything out, putting the MoBo on a box and clipping the PSU and CPU/fan in as suggested in shortstuff_mt's guide. There's a green light on the MoBo, but there's no beeps when I try to start it. I've even tried using a PSU that I know is good. I've been digging through threads and trying everything. I'm hoping I've just missed something and I don't have to get a new motherboard.

Build:

Asus Sabertooth Z77
Gigabyte GV-N680OC-2GD
Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1300W
Intel i7-3770 3.4GHz
G.Skill Ripjaw X (32GB)

Things I've tried:

-Everything in shortstuff_mt's "PERFORM THESE STEPS before posting about POST/boot/no video problems!" guide.
-Using a known wokring PSU
-Checking the MoBo for stuck switches
-Reversing the power, speaker and HD LED cables just in case they were backwards.

Things to note:

There is a green light on the bottom of the motherboard that comes on. No other lights or beeps.

Solution
If you have a Flash drive try downloading the latest bios from ASUS and you can flash the board by inserting the flash drive into the rear I/O and press the flash back button.
No cpu even needs to be installed.

Do you mean try a different stick every time in slot 1 or a different slot with the same stick or both?

I'll definitely give this a shot. I'm seeing a lot of overlapping/contradictory information about how to do this. From the Asus website I got a zip with a file called SABERTOOTH-Z77-ASUS-1908.CAP. There's some mention that this needs to be renamed prior to using it. Is that still the case or since moving to the CAP format are the names good to go?

Make sure the flash drive is fomatted first then dounload the bios and the bios renamer they need to be in the file together.

Description

Bios Renamer for USB BIOS Flashback
1.Put Bios file and Bios renamer in same folder
2.Execute the Utility
3.Use new Bios file for USB BIOS Flashback.

I'm not seeing any indication that it's working. I guess it really is dead.

On the bright side, my cpu and psu are probably ok.

Thanks for the help everyone. I'll mark giltyler as the answer since that tip was the one that convinced me the MoBo was indeed dead.

Yeah. Unfortunately there is no life aside from that one green light. I was on the phone with Asus last night trying to troubleshoot for a bit before I just RMA'ed the board.

Asus offered to replace it for free(ish). I'm sure I'll get a refurbished board instead of a brand new one, but if it works I'll be happy.

And yeah it's a little heartbreaking, but if one things was going to go wrong I'm glad it's a part that obviously broken that has a sturdy warranty than have it be some sneaky broken part from some guy's garage that I wouldn't realize until a month from now and have to just eat the cost.
