Hello all...

First of all, I thank in advance to all of you who spend some of your time reviewing my questions and try to answer and help me...

I am practically new on this stuff and have the following problems...

I just build a new PC with the following specifications...

Enclosure: COOLER MASTER ELITE 431 PLUS RC-431P-KWN2 USB 3.0
Mother Board: ASUS M5A97 4XDDR3 PCIEX16 USB3 ATX AM3+
CPU: AMD FX-SERIES X8 8320 3.5GHZ 125W 16MB AM3+
GPU: ASUS HD6670-2GD3 2GB DDR3 PCIE2.1 128BIT
RAM: 2 x DDR3 KINGSTON HYPERX BLU 4GB 1600MHZ (KHX1600C9D3B1/4G)
HDD: SEAGATE 1TB SATA III 7200 RPM ST1000DM003 64MB
SSD: SSD ADATA S511 120GB SATA III 2.5"
Optical: DVD WRITER LG GH24NS95 24X SUPERMULTIDRIVE D LAYER SATA 2MB
Power Supply: ACTECK AF-B600P 600W
SO: Windows 7 OEM Professional 64-bits (installed on the SSD)
(Everything connected to my Samsung LED 3D Smart TV via HDMI)

Additionally:
- The case included one 120mm fan on the front/bottom to bring air in.
- The power supply inculde one fan to extract air and do not allow the hot air from it to enter to the case.
- I installed one 120mm fan on the top/rear connected by molex to bring air in.

Everything seems to work fine, PC boots in 5-10 secs, all devices seem to work okay. After installing the SO and the divers for my GPU from the DVD, the first thing I tried was games.

I tried BF3 and NFSMW. But in no more than 3 minutes, my PC shuts down and I can't turn it on again unless I turn off and then turn on the power supply switch. At this moment I should mention that I noticed one of the leds of the M/B keeps on and the LAN Port LED keeps blinking (until of course I turn off/on the power supply switch).

I also se a couple of videos on Youtube and everything seem ok, but I didn't keep too much time watching at those.

I even played Portable AoE II (the old version, not the HD) and everything seemed to be good, but again, I didn't spend too much time playing.

When I tried to see a movie on Netflix, the problem also repeated. I couldn't even had the chance to see the firs frame, it was loading, almost to start the video but, the PC did shutdown.

I tried a program to monitor temeperatures and the highest it registered was 48°C, it's supposed that the threshold to shutdown the CPU is 90°C (as I read). I used this program alongside a benchmark and the highest temperature still was 48°C.

My SO gives me a score of 6.8 out of 7.9 for my build. I don't remember very well my individual scores but they were something like 7.7, 7.7, 7.7, 6.8, 6.8 and 7.9. The lower scores were for the 3D<something> and the other for another thing also related to the graphics (I think).

However, when running the benchmark or asking my SO to re evaluate my system and provide me a new score. Sometimes it finished successfully, and sometimes my PC shuts down while in the process.

I don't notice that my system gets hot. The case don't feels hot and the environment inside the case do not feels hot either.

What can be my problem? A bad build? A bad configuration? Power Supply too small? Not enough fans (air flow)?

Can somebody please help me? I really build this PC to play games and it seems that is the only thing I can't do!! =( (plus not being able to see videos of course).

I would really appreciate any help provided.

Thanks masters!! ;)

It's the power supply. That power supply shaped object you have is most likely what's causing your rig to become unstable and unusable. I ran into a similar problem with an old rig and it turned out that the PSU was the cause after countless diagnostics. So yeah chuck that power supply and get a Seasonic or Corsair, that should solve your problems.

Don't worry about the WEI scores - they're meaningless.

Thank you so much for your quick answer. Based on it, the first thing I will try is getting someone who lend me one better than mine and test it. Which one you suggest me? One over 1000W?

No what you need is one that puts out correct amperage and voltage loads. An uncertified and unrated power supply like that won't put out any sort of voltage loads - regardless of the stated wattage. If you had something like a 550W - 750W PSU that's certified and rated 80+ bronze or better like a Corsair TX750 or an XFX Black Edition or a low end Seasonic that would be ideal. A rule of thumb for power supplies is if they're not certified or rated - don't buy!

I found one that is easier to get here in my country... It is the Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 850W. It says it is 80+ Silver certified. (Since I don't know if it is allowed or not to paste links here, you can check it on the cooler master main site). Can you helping me out, checking it and suggesting me if that one is appropiate to my rig? Thanks in advance!

Sorry its Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 720W (80+ Bronze Certified)

Cooler Master isn't really a recommended brand because they slap a lot of fake labels, certifications, and make false advertising claims on a lot of their products. What country are you in? If I knew that I could suggest a supply.
