Hello everybody
My room mate's been having trouble gaming on his laptop with the configuration below:

Laptop model & Make: Dell Studio 15 (1555)
CPU: Core 2 Duo T9550 2.66 GHz
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
Mobo: OEM Dell mobo with an OEM BIOS
Power: Battery dead, runs on direct power

Problem: When gaming or stress testing (Furmark) and occasionally while watching movies, the laptop overheats and shuts down. Open hardware Monitor reports temp in the vicinity of 100 C.

Steps taken so far: Cleaned out the laptop and Thermal compound has been applied to the cpu.

CPU temps are fine and it has passed IPDT with the default level 8 load.

The gpu temps remain the same however and gaming for 10 minutes took the gpu temp all the way up to 95C

need all of you to help out with this.

Many thanks
-Satyam

Not all chipsets are compatible but speedfan is a great light weight program to manual set the speed of fans. You could set the rpm to max as to combat temps before they start reaching high temps. If its not compatible a better rated CFM fan will help alot

Okay, an update...information online on this laptop suggests that it does not have a fan for the GPU? Since this is not my system, I can't take a screwdriver and open it up to check things....is it possible to fit in a fan inside this case? how can we improve the GPU's cooling?
