dell xps 9100 computer

Yes, I have the dell xps 9100 with i7-930 processor with a 5770 1 g graphics card. with a 525 power supply. i have 18 g's ram. i am getting ready to do a lot of recording and some video editing and would like to know what i need to have a big system that would handle everything.i have not had any problems with my processor, just wanting to up date to a new system if i could.tell me for recording what would i need . thank you jay

I would recomend the i7 3770k with 16gbs of 1600mhz ddr3, go for an h77 chipset motherboard unless you plan on overclocking then i would suggest a z77 motherboard. Are you in the market for a GPU aswell?

Im not a huge fan of amd gpus, dont get me wrong there very functional but it depends what you like. Intergrated sound cards are usually more then enough, using a sound card creates the need for a bigger psu and also takes up space in your computer. As for the Psu i would recomend atleast a bronze or silver+ certified psu with atleast a 500W rating. Seasonic makes great power supplys aswell as corsair. If you have to go with AMD for your gpu go with the 7950 and overclock it to match simular preformance to the 7970 while saving you money. Just make sure to increase the fan speed when you do so. If i were you though i would go with a gtx 670 over a 6950/70 but thats my preferance
