Hi,

So I'm looking at this PSU Aerocool Templarius Imperator 1150W and I wonder if it's any good, it's an Andyson PSU. I know it's not an Seasonic PSU but is it a good PSU, Is there any chance that it will fry my other components even though it has Over Current, Over Voltage, Over Wattage, Over Temperature and Short-Circuit protection?

If it's not a good PSU then can you please help me. I'm looking for a PSU which can handle 2 Sapphire 7970 GHz OC CrossFire(take about 450w each) and the CPU is a 3770K @ 4.5 GHz.

Thanks.

Thanks but guys I looked at several reviews for the 7970 GHz OCed it eats at full load 400 watt, sorry I don't know where I got 450 from.

Am I reading it wrong or something?

And thanks allot for the link bigcyco1, very useful.

EDIT: oh and budget is 150 USD, store doesn't matter. Also I don't care if it's 80+ Gold/Silver etc as long as it's 80+, I need it to stable though and handle 2 7970 in CrossFire. ohh and it needs to be modular/semi modular.

Thanks.

You missed where it says system wattage. That's for the entire system, not just the GPU.

Edit: This came up in a different thread where someone listed a Hard review.

To measure power consumption we use a P3 International Kill-A-Watt device to measure power consumption from the wall. The entire testing system, excluding the speakers and monitor, are plugged into the Kill-A-Watt device. Therefore, power consumption numbers include all components, not just the video card.

I had guessed this was the cause for their higher then normal numbers and this confirms it. The problem with measuring with a Kill a watt is you are seeing the AC pull. The efficiency of the PSU comes into play here. If your PSU is very efficient then only a little extra power will be pulled to supply the DC power that the card needs. If its not, then a lot of extra power will be pulled. They should try to find a way to show not the AC pulled from the wall, but what the parts actually consume. Otherwise the PSU influences the results to much.

oh lol thanks 4745454b.

bigcyco1, Since I live in Sweden that PSU is more expensive here.
How about the XFX ProSeries XXX Edition P1-850X-XXB9 850W ?

Thanks.
