Bad Panel in Acer Laptop...swapped it out and getting weird pixelation

So I had an Acer laptop that had a bad panel. Went completely white with streaks in it. I swapped it out with a new panel, and now it works, but there is this weird pixelation. An example would be a photograph of a mountain. Normally the sky is blue, but on the panel, it has a random scattering of red pixels, yet the overall representation of the photo is accurate. I have tried two of the same exact panels on it.

Now I must note that the panels are not *exactly* the same, although the connector fits into it. Does anyone know of such an incompatibility between panel/motherboard or is there something wrong with the graphics chip/circuitry?

Any comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks!

EDIT: *and* I swapped out the video cable that goes to the motherboard. No change.
