Air flow help

Solution
Well ..if your H100 is on top....I would run positive case pressure and have the H100 blow air out the top ( exhaust ) do the stock front and side fans blowing in...and the rear blowing out...put any extra 120mm fans on your H100 if you can for a push/pull config. you can also put a fan on the bottom blowing up towards your video card.

You shouldn't really need intake fans if the system is not a high powered rig, intake also brings in dust and other air particles, so if you are a smoker in the PC room, all that gunk would also be taken in.

As long as the case is not cramped, has plenty of elbow room then the second one would suffice.

You should take precautions as to where you place your PC, if on the floor, use something under it so that the carpet dust does not get sucked in (vacuum your room at least once a fortnight). If on a desk, make sure that that there is at least 8 inches behind it and at least four inches of space on either side (if in a siding area)..

For better replies (from others), you should add all your other specs as well as the model brand of the PC case.

If the case is air tight then a small intake fan would be more than adequate, anything too big is just sucking in room temperature air as well as the spin of a fan can create its own heat. Most PC cases have vent holes that bring in air, anyhow.

If the PSU is bottom based, it is usual to have its side fan facing towards your desk however there should be more than an inch of space under the upright case otherwise the lack of air flow could damage the PSU or make your desk really hot making it discolour. Adding blocks at either end might give it a lift.

As long as you have space in the case, the cables are not going to be touching any fans or rest on heatsinks the two 120mm fans are good to go.
Some people have as many as 6 fans, they need to weight down the PC to stop it fron flying around the room!
