Hey guys,

I'm looking to sell my PC, but I'm not sure how to properly appraise all the components used in it. The PC was built in the summer of 2011, and is still working like a charm. If you need a picture of the inside of the system, just ask and I'll post one. Any input would be extremely helpful.

Thank you all so much!

Here's how you calculate system depreciation:

Take what you paid for the system, subtract the salvage value (if there is any) and divide it by the life of the build and the month you plan to sell it in.

For instance:

Say it's a $1500 system, you've had it for two years, and there's a salvage value of $150 and you're selling it in May.

(($1500 - $150) / 2) * (7/12) = $393.53

$1500 - $393.53 = $1106.47

You can expect your system to sell for around $1106.47.
