I was given an eee pc to look at. The model is 1005HA. There is no power and neither is there a charging light. It is completely dead. I tried a battery and a known good AC adapter, I checked the voltage on and around the jack and all were 19 volts and some change -- excellent, I unplugged the CMOS battery and plugged it back in, I changed the RAM (same speed even), turned it on with and without a hard drive and still no power. I even unplugged the fan and plugged it back in knowing that will do nothing LOL. But on a serious note REALLY -- any suggestions besides a new board?

Thanx Guys!

Was the battery the same as the model 1005HA was it exact? is there a light that's suppose to come on ? while charging? is the charger the exact one for that model? Something to look into the board may have gotten hot and died its a known fact on those netbooks they got hot and froze requiring a reboot.

The battery is original and I even tried it without the battery. I figure it gotta be something with the board. The PC is still like new and wasn't used often. Maybe your right about the heat thing. Maybe they didn't regard the vents while using it.
