i get a constant stutter lag on BF3 about every 4 or 5 seconds moving around from low - ultra even in areas where the is no action/explosions etc. even if the server is empty. Windows task manager show CPU running at around 60-70% and my temp is good at around 42c. No lag in single player BF3 and no lag in Arma 3 multiplayer&singleplayer. my FPS never drops below 40 usually around 60FPS. Also my PING is never higher than 50. i have the latest driver for my GPU. What is the Problem???

CPU - AMD FX6300 Quad core
GPU - EVGA GTX 660 2MB VRAM
RAM - 8GB GSKILL SNIPER SERIES 1866mhz
HDD - WD CAVIAR BLUE 1TB
PSU - CORSAIR 650W

i agree it could be a ping problem. torrents anyone????

bf3 single...
i think your connection (ping is not stable)
can you try moving around while looking at the fps? if the fps is stable then it probably is the connection. try other servers as well.
i also play bf3, sometimes there are servers that the ping is ok, say 100+, but it is difficult to move smoothly sometimes. but i guess this is because the ping does not refresh that fast, so maybe it spikes but we dont see it. just guessing

bf3 single player is not cpu bound but multiplayer definitely is MUCH more cpu bound

OP i have two initial thoughts. rubber banding(ping related) and hardware lag(cpu/gpu bottleneck). when the problem happens are you running along and all of a sudden you get pulled to another location or back where you came from?
look up "bf3 rubber banding" on youtube(i would link but youtube is down). Now on to the bottleneck, try overclocking the gpu and cpu independently and see if that helps. bf3 can be very cpu dependent and just as much cpu dependent as gpu dependent. think 64 player explosive metro map..... explosions everywhere, death everywhere.

i guess it was "rubber banding" like you said. tested out as many servers as i could under 100 ping and some ran smooth. I would say about 75% give me lag though which seems excessive to me. I can say I'm glad it wasn't a hardware issue though, this computer was my first build and still have alot to learn. CPU i guess is a little weak for GPU, will probably go with Intel next upgrade. thanks for the help much appreciated
