Hey guys,

Pretty simple question; Is it worth while buying the i5-3570K if you are not going to overclock?

Solution

There is almost no difference is price between the 3570k, 3570s and standard 3570. Although you say now you don't want to overclock, if you think about it this way: Lets say in 3 years you feel your CPU is getting a bit sluggish compared to the most up to date models or it doesn't quite have the power for some new game, would you rather spend £200/$300 on a new chip or overclock it and boost the performance to keep it going another year or more =)

Well that's the way I would look at it. As the saving between them is less than the price of decent case fan, I would go with the 3570"K" just in case you change your mind.

Hmm okay...

Well the only reason why I don't want to overclock is because I don't know how to do it hahaha...

I suppose getting the 3570"K" would be the better choice just in case later on I want to overclock.

Hey don't worry about it, everybody on here that know how to overclock had to learn it at some point. It's not as difficult or scary as it seems, it's really quite easy and safe. Pretty much every year the new gen of boards and CPU's make it even easier. Plus it can offer quite large improvements to your system with very little effort.
I would say to definitely get the 3570k and once it's all put built and your happy have a read up on how to OC, or come back and ask us =) And if you don't want to go for it just yet, that's cool, maybe another time.

You won't be disappointed with that chip, it's awesome =)

Thanks for all the information, really appreciated

I'll probably be putting a post up on what parts I'm going to use in my build, hopefully you see the post haha
